More Red Delicious

I just finished March and April blocks for the Red Delicious group. March is called Fanfare and has some detail work. I used #12 sulky white thread to stitch around the fan. I still need to add some to the tassels but don't know if they will hang loose or if I should freemotion some little dangles on the tassels.
April is called Rose Delious Delight. It is just fused down and will do the final stitching after all the blocks are done. I did some EKG stitching on the other blocks so I might do the same with this block.
Anyway, I am getting caught up with all the projects I have started. Just one more to go for the Jenny Haskins Heritage Quilt. This will be the first block. Our group has been collecting fabric and they are so pretty. I will show it when it is done.

Saying for the Day

"Politenss is the art of choosing among your thoughts."

Sweatshirt Jacket

Here it is almost summer and I am making a sweatshirt jacket. This was the project for Pfaff Club the last two months. We had to take apart a sweatshirt and add whatever fabric and designs we wanted. I saw this oval design, something like a drunkards path, and decided to use it. Then at the Arizona Quilt Show I found some red and black fat quarter fabric and decided to use them on the body of the sweatshirt. I also found some fabric that looked like leather. I cut this into 1/2" strips and sewed them down the seam lines. I put back on the ribbing around the neck, sleeves and bottom. I think it turned out pretty good. I just can't wear it now until next fall.

Mary Kay

I really appreciate the help a few of my friends have given me with my Mary Kay business. They have been patient with my unorganization and lack of knowledge of colors etc. but they have been a tremendous help with tips and insights. I still don't know how far to take this business. Times are tuff now for everyone but the cosmetics business is doing well. The way we look helps us to feel good about ourselves and feeling good about ourselves spills over into our family life. ABC News recently gave a report of cosmetics and Mary Kay. Click here NBC to see a short video about the Mary Kay Business. I really do love the products. The sooner you start on a skin care routine the better you will look as you get older and the better you'll feel about yourself. I sure do need more practice giving these classes and would love to practice on you. Give me a call.
